Because women screw up public speaking opportunities

"I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because, uh, some ... people out there in our nation don't have maps and uh, I believe that our, ah, education like such as in South Africa, and, uh, the Iraq, everywhere like such as, and I believe that they should, uh, our education over here in the U.S. should help the U.S., or should help South Africa, it should help the Iraq and the Asian countries so we will be able to build up our future, for."
Miss South Carolina

Strong capable women who have achieved things often screw up the moment of public engagement. The above example is an excellent one of women not organizing properly for the moment where they engage with the public.

This is primarily because they are not sufficiently prepared. Plus a woman often thinks she can get away with saying pretty much anything in public and if she’s beautiful, it won’t be heard – or if it is heard it won’t be helped against her.

Here are some more brilliant things famous women have said in public:

1. «Smoking kills. If you're killed, you've lost a very important part of your life.»

- Brooke Shields, during an interview to become spokesperson for a federal anti-smoking campaign.

2. «So, where's the Cannes Film Festival being held this year?» Christina Aguilera

3. «Fiction writing is great. You can make up almost anything.»
- Ivana Trump, on finishing her first novel
4. «I get to go to lots of overseas places, like Canada.»
- Britney Spears, on Blender Magazine (April 2004)
5. «Whenever I watch TV and see those poor starving kids all over the world, I can't help but cry. I mean I'd love to be skinny like that but not with all those flies and death and stuff.» Mariah Carey, pop singer

6. «I don't diet. I just don't eat as much as I'd like to.»

- Linda Evangelista, Supermodel

7.«I've never really wanted to go to Japan. Simply because I don’t like eating fish. And I know that's very popular out there in Africa.»

— Britney Spears

In romance novels the world is just the way women want it, and this means there is no criticism when they make mistakes and there is plenty of time to go about things and make them happen.  She is able to give speeches and she practises for her speech over and over.
